About Dr. Strike

Dr. Lowell H. Strike served as the Little Elm ISD Superintendent from January 2015 until his retirement in December of 2017. Dr. Strike has served in a variety of roles in public education for more than 35 years. Prior to his role as Superintendent, he was the Deputy Superintendent in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, Associate Superintendent in Southlake Carroll ISD, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum & Instruction in Northwest ISD, and served as an Executive Director in Katy ISD. His campus administrative roles have included middle school principalships in Brownfield ISD and Bryan ISD, as well as serving as the first principal of Cinco Ranch High School in Katy ISD. He taught at the high school level in Iowa for 11 years.

Dr. Strike’s honors include being selected as the Humanitarian of the Year by the Southlake Kiwanis Club, Texas Future Business Leaders of America State of Texas Business Person of the Year, he is an Honorary Life Member for the Future Farmers of America and the Texas PTA, in addition. He was named as an Outstanding Educator by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, received the Outstanding Service Award from the Brazos Area Alliance of Black School Educators, was named the Iowa Assistant Wrestling Coach of the Year, and is in the Distributive Education Clubs of America Hall of Fame. He has led strategic planning for Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD and Little Elm ISD, plans that set the direction of school districts.

He has a passion for helping others to grow as leaders to impact every child that enters school doors. After his retirement, Dr. Strike became a consultant for the International Center for Leadership in Education and has traveled across the country giving keynote speeches to school board members, training campus teachers, and serving as an executive coach to campus and district administrators. In addition, he recently joined the Organizational Health Diagnostic and Development Corporation. Dr. Strike earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Education from Buena Vista University in Iowa, a Master’s of Science in Educational Administration, and a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University in College Station. He has been married to his wife Kimi since August 26, 1972; they have two children and two grandchildren. Their son Evan Strike resides in Addison, Texas, and daughter Shannon resides in Clayton, North Carolina with their son-in-law, Lt. Colonel Mike Cimato and their two children, Michaela and Christian.
